Support the Holding Down Harlem Initiative This Thanksgiving

I hope this message finds you well. As you may be aware, the recent U.S. government shutdown has had a profound impact on many families, particularly those affected by the suspension of SNAP benefits. In response, I wanted to share an initiative close to my heart. For several years, I’ve been part of a community-driven effort dedicated to supporting families in need through our annual Turkey Drive. Each year, we come together to raise funds and provide meals to help our neighbors celebrate Thanksgiving with joy and dignity.

This year, in light of current challenges, we’ve expanded our efforts through the Holding Down Harlem Initiative. In partnership with several local restaurants, we plan to provide hot meals to families throughout Thanksgiving week and on Thanksgiving Day itself.

We are currently seeking donations to help make this possible. Contributions of $5, $10, $15, or any amount are deeply appreciated. For donations of $100 or more, we can also provide a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible receipt. Our goal is to feed over 200 families in our community this season.
